Pictures & Pages Book Group

1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students will share picture books to inspire group conversations and simple literacy and art activities.

This week's book will be The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt. The students will engage in a group discussion about letter writing.

Register for the BPL Summer Reading Program.

  • Click the ‘Sign Me Up’ button.

  • Fill out the brief registration.

  • Use teen's fall enrollment information for the school and grade content.

  • Set a goal for the amount of time spent reading this summer.
    Click here to see the reading goal chart.
    Refer to the week your teen will start reading, the amount of time to read each day and enter the highlighted total as the goal when registering.


  • Record daily reading on a log sheet available at the library.
    Beginning June 4, teens can start reporting their reading totals at the library or online on a weekly basis.


    Teens who read at least 10 hours will be entered into a weekly prize drawing!
    When reading goals are met, each teen will receive a free book and be entered into a grand prize drawing for a Kindle Fire.
    Last day to report reading times will be July 31.
